Meet our Founder
Joe Mlaka
At Homelink Corporation, our journey began in January 2001, guided by the vision and determination of our founder, Joseph “Joe” Mlaka.
Growing up in the heart of Chicago, my values were deeply influenced by my family – my father, a WWII Marine, and my mother, who worked at Motorola. Their pursuit of the American dream laid the groundwork for my enduring commitment to hard work and paying it forward.
Intrigued by the real estate industry, I recognized a perfect fit blending these aspirations into the temporary housing industry. Through a collaborative venture with a lifelong friend deeply rooted in the industry, the concept of Homelink took shape. This eventually led to the establishment of Homelink Corporation in 2001. Its first office was located in Illinois, and to this day, the company proudly maintains its headquarters in Hoffman Estates, embodying the steadfast roots of its origin and commitment to excellence in the temporary housing industry.
Building on Service: The Homelink Difference
From day one, I envisioned Homelink as a company built on service. I pledged to provide the highest level of service throughout the entire claim process, a commitment that echoes through the organization to this day. Over two decades, Homelink has fostered strong relationships with insurance carriers nationwide, offering a range of housing services for residential and commercial displacements.
As our team continues to grow and evolve, Homelink continues to operate as a family. My upbringing principles echo through the organization – work hard for what you believe in, and always pay it forward. Our commitment to employees mirrors our dedication to customers.
